YOU HAVE COME INTO THE KINGDOM FOR SUCH A TIME LIKE THIS

From a sermon given on 14 July 2024:

For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
(Esther 4:14)

For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish (be destroyed). Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

The beautiful Queen Esther, orphaned as a child was raised by her cousin Mordecai. Through Mordecai's mentorship, Esther ascended to the throne after the former queen , Vashti , angered the king.

When the fate of all Jews was threatened, Mordecai knew that Esther could be able to help make the King to change his mind and revise the edict to kill all the Jews. He reminded Esther of what God might have intended when out of many women of her time, he singled her out to become the Queen. He reminded her that she may have ascended into the top seat so that God would use her to deliver his people who were facing annihilation. This was a call to risk her position and try to save her people.

And like Esther, God has already prepared and anointed you to accomplish specific purposes in the kingdom at such a time like this. God is calling us to stand up for our faith and do the right things for his People even if it will jeopardize our position. We are called to have courage and stand up for what is right and go about it in a way that is honorable and true like Esther did. We must stand up and fulfill God's purposes for our day.

Further Readings:

Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
(Genesis 12:1-4)

Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?
(Exodus 3:10,11)

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord. Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
(Jeremiah 1:5-10)
