This time of year, many are in a big rush. They are all caught up in the hustle and bustle to get the biggest tree, be the first one to decorate their house with Christmas decorations and fancy lights, to get everyone just the perfect present. They are so caught up in all of this that they are missing what is around them, and missing the opportunities to get out there and make a difference. They have lost sight of the true meaning of this season.

Over two thousand years ago God gave us the most perfect of all gifts, that of His only incarnate Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. This gift isn’t just for you or me. It isn’t just for the avid church-goer. It isn’t for just the rich or those with the perfect job. This gift is for everyone. Including the drug addict, the wino, the lady living in her car with a bunch of kids, and even for the homeless man living under a bush down the road. Yes, it is for everybody, no exceptions.

On Christmas morning while so many are busy opening their presents from friends and loved ones, there are other that have lost faith and all sense of hope, and just want it to end. Instead of opening presents, they are opening up a bottle of pills and downing the contents with a bottle of alcohol, or they have a razor blade and are opening up their wrists.

They need to know that it is not too late. They need to know that God loves them and wants only the best for them, if they will follow His Will. They need to know that it is not too late. That things will get better and improve. But they must take the first step.

The whole world needs to know this, but unfortunately, they turn a deaf ear to the message. They reject God and His message and put their trust in worthless things like governments, social services, drugs, alcohol, churches not teaching the real Gospel or a watered-down version of it, and so many other things.

No matter how much they and the rest of the world rejects the Gospel message of Christ and His love for us and the message of Eternal Life and Salvation, we must keep going forth in an attempt to spread it to everyone we can. We are commissioned and commanded by Christ to, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19).

With social media, the Internet and even with cell phones, it is very easy to talk to people clear around the world. We must do everything we can to share the Gospel and its message of salvation and eternal life. We must share with them the REAL meaning of the Christmas season and what it means for all of is.

This Christmas season be the tool that God uses to bring to them the gift from God Himself of salvation and eternal life, through His Son Jesus Christ, “…the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23) and “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Be an example to the world as to the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the divine message of everlasting life and salivation through Jesus Christ, and Christ alone. That is it not anything they could ever work for or earn, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8,9).

Salvation and eternal life are a gift for us from God Himself. Let’s present this gift to all of those in need throughout the world.

Let those that are so lost in pain and despair open the gift of salvation and eternal life through Jesus Christ, instead of opening their wrists or a bottle of pills.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE
