From a sermon given on 08 September 2024:
And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet. And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar. Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.
(2 Samuel 9:3-5)
When David took over Israel kingship after a series of tiffs from Saul, he decided to show favour to his long time friend , Jonathan . Luckily ,his disabled son Mephibosheth was found. After the ouster of his grandfather from kingship, Mephibosheth settled away from Jerusalem at a place called Lodebar . The village , away from the capital was forgotten and had nothing to brag of. But this didn't deter David from sending servants to get him back to his once glorious past.
Villages of neglect, forgetfulness, coupled with disabilities do trace us making "Lodebar" our only place to lodge and settle. We find ourselves away from what we once enjoyed and away from those who may show mercy or favour .But God will never allow a permanent deletion of our names from the wall of fame. Your set back is not going to be permanent. The heavenly courier services will locate you at "Lodebar" and have you restored to your rightful position.
For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
(Isaiah 61:7)

Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely: And they shall be my people, and I will be their God: And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.
(Jeremiah 32:37-41)
Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.
(Ezekiel 11:17)
Thus saith the Lord God; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob. And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the Lord their God.
(Ezekiel 28:25, 26)
