YOU ARE MORE VALUABLE THAN MANY SPARROWS

From a sermon given on 10 August 2025:

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
(Matthew 10:29-31)

Jesus offered these words to disciples facing hostility and uncertainty. His point was clear: nothing escapes God's care - not even the fall of a tiny sparrow. And if God notices the smallest details of creation, how much more does He value you? You are not forgotten. You are deeply known, entirely seen, and infinitely loved by the One who formed you.

Hagar-s story in Genesis 16:13 illustrates this beautifully. Alone in the wilderness, mistreated and despairing, she encounters El Roi – "the God who sees me." That name is not just for Hagar; it's for you. No matter where you are - at the height of success or in the valley of sorrow - God sees, and He cares.

Let this truth reshape your self-worth. If the Father has counted the hairs on your head, then nothing about your life is insignificant. When fear whispers that you are forgotten, faith must remind you: you are worth more than many sparrows.

Further Readings:

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
(Psalm 139:17-18)

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
(Isaiah 49:15-16)

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
(Luke 12:6-7)
