NOT WITHOUT JESUS IN THE EQUATION

From a sermon given on 01 June 2025:

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
|(John 15:5)

Whatever strength, wisdom, or ability we think we possess, apart from Jesus, it all falls short. Jesus is not an optional add-on to life - He is the very center of life. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit without being connected to the vine, we cannot truly live, grow, or flourish without being in Christ. Any equation of life that does not include Jesus is incomplete and ultimately leads to emptiness.

Though we may pursue success, knowledge, good works, or even religious activity - if Jesus is not in the equation, we labor in vain. Christ is the source of our purpose, the strength of our walk, and the hope of our eternity. Without Jesus, all our efforts become hollow achievements that cannot stand the test of time or trial.

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
(Colossians 1:17)

Jesus is not just part of life - He is life. Everything finds its meaning, order, and direction in Him. When we keep Him at the center, our lives align with God’s will, and we bear fruit that remains.

Further readings:

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
(John 14:6)

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
(Philippians 4:13)

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
(Hebrews 12:2)
