November 2001 Can you imagine a war going on all around yes, yet we cannot see it? What do I mean? Let's take a look at Ephesians 6:12 which says, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." We can't see this with our physical eyes, only with our spiritual eyes. Demonic forces are working through others trying us who believe in Christ to stumble and trip us up. The Word of God tells us this in Ephesians 6:10: "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might." Next in verse 11 we find: "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." The Word does not say piece of armor, or half armor. It says THE WHOLE ARMOR!!! When we tale on the whole armor of God, we can withstand in the evil day, and have done all we can to stand. We are to redeem the time for the days are evil. God tells us about the whole armor in Ephesians chapter 6 so we can use it in spiritual battle, my friend, not physical battle. Those who war against us are in the world. They are in carnality. These people who are under the influence of the devil, who continue in the cycle of sinful habits, attacking those of us who believe and stand for Christ. The whole armor of God is our tool to stand against the wiles of the devil. We have girded our waist, having on our protective armor (a spiritual garment) and putting on our utility belt to hold our spiritual weapon. When they kick us, we can be protected by our lower armor. When we put on our shoes, we can bring good news into battle. Holding our shield of faith, we can quench the fiery darts of the devil. When we put on our helmet of salvation, we are protecting our head and mind. Then, the most important part of our armor, the sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God! The book of Hebrews gives us a good description of this most important part of the armor of God. Hebrews 4:12 states: "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." There is a reason this weapon of our armor is so important. It gives us the ability to cut because it is living and active. It cuts to the heart of our lives and the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ exposes the darkness. Praise God! That is why we need to always be in prayer. Read Ephesians 6:18 which says, "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints." We need to come together in prayer and fellowship, seeking first the kingdom of God, standing in agreement in the will of God against the wiles of the devil. We are to study to become knowledgeable in the Word of God and become a worker who does not need to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth (see 2 Timothy 2:15). 2 Peter 1:10 states: "Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall." When we are steadfast in Christ and we have the whole armor of God, Romans 8:38-39 says it best: "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." When the wiles of the devil come against us, we know we can stand strong in Christ, for we do not stand alone, but with brothers and sisters of Christ. Glory to God!! Next time the devil comes against you in some way to do battle, remember your Victory in Christ. No weapon will prosper that come against you. We have the armor and the ultimate weapon of all: The Living Word of God. Amen. Peace and Grace unto You. God Bless You and Keep You Safe and Well.
