Jeremiah 17:8 tells us; "For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit." We can picture a choice tree planted in the richest soil, whose roots are so well rooted and spread out and bears much fruit, or buds of flowers and green lush leaves. When we follow Christ we become a tree such as the one in the rich soil.

Let's take a look at Proverbs 16:20 at it tell us: "He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he." When we stay in the Word we are blessed in Christ. Here we see the story of Lazarus in the book of John in chapter 11. Martha tells Jesus that she knows her brother will rise again in the resurrection on the last day. Lazarus has been dead for four days. Not one, two, or three, but four days! Now in verse 25 we are told: "Jesus said unto her [Martha], I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" Verse 26 continues on with: "And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" Now I've never heard great men tell or say they are the life and the resurrection. They only said they show the way.

In Revelation 1:17-18 we are told: "And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death." Let's see, I've never hears any great leader proclaim they had the keys of death and hell in their possession. Once again we can see the assurance of eternal security and eternal salvation in Christ. Ephesians 2:18 hammers this home: "For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father." Ephesians 3:12 also says; "In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him."

The question boils down to this, who do you desire to follow? Man or the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life, the Door to God the Father who gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ?

I challenge you today to seek and follow Christ who is the Great Man, the Great Teacher, the Great Saviour, and most of all the Great I AM!

Put your hand in His hand today, to that eternal life through Him. Don't be a victim of easy believism, and end up like the Gate Keepers who found NO eternal salvation, only eternal damnation, because they chose to follow man!!!
