There are those that spend a lot of time, hundreds and hundreds of hours trying to pinpoint the season, day (date) and even the exact time of the Rapture, the Tribulation, and the Second coming. It is as if it is an obsession with them.
The Words of Christ Himself, found in God’s Holy Word, tell us that:
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
(Matthew 24:36)
Many of the pin pointers will tell you that Christ is referring to the day of certain Festivals or Feasts. This is simply NOT the case. Why would Christ or anyone, in the middle of talking about an event as important as His Return, suddenly stop in the middle of what He is saying and bring up something that has nothing to do with He is saying, and go off about a Festival or Feast? Just read what comes before and after it and take it in context with what is being said. Just read all of Matthew chapter 24 to get a full understanding of what Christ is talking about and how the 34th verse is used in it.
Many cults and false teachers do the same thing, use a bunch of gobbledygook and go on and on with it, to try to justify the verse they are taking out of context to try to prove their erroneous point. These are major warning signs that this person or group is not what they claim and are just a false prophet or teacher, and nothing they say should be listened to.
Many times when someone gives a date and what they claim will take place fails to do so, they will claim that Jesus set the time back for it or that God did not give them the correct information so He could test them. Again, these are the signs of a false prophet or teacher.
This same reasoning and logic also applies to those obsessed with knowing the identity of who the antichrist will be. It is not our place to know it at this time. When the time is right, God will reveal to the world who he is, and not before then. There are those who may have a suspicion to whom it may be, but there is no way to be 100% certain until God is ready to reveal him.
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition
(2 Thessalonians 2:3)
Anytime I see someone or an organization giving a date for which something is supposed to take place, they have no credibility with me and I don’t need to read the rest. For they are false prophets and false teachers.
Christ warned us that:
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
(Matthew 24:11)
Now that you have been warned, keep your eyes and ears open. You have seen what Holy Scripture says, and Scripture must always come before the teachings of any man, no matter who they are.
