WALKING TALL THROUGH IT ALL

From a sermon given on 30 August 2026:

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
(2 Corinthians 4:8-9, NIV)

The measure of faith is not seen when life is easy but when life is difficult. Anyone can stand on a mountaintop, but it takes confidence in God to remain standing in the valley. The storms of life may shake your surroundings, but they cannot shake the believer whose life is anchored in Christ. Your circumstances may change overnight, but your identity in God never does.

God never wastes pain. Every trial becomes a classroom where faith is refined, character is strengthened, and hope is purified. Gold is tested by fire, not to destroy it but to reveal its value. The enemy hopes adversity will make you quit, but God uses the same adversity to prepare you for greater responsibility. What was meant to weaken you becomes the very testimony that strengthens others.

Do not let your struggle determine your posture. Stand tall, not because you are strong, but because Christ is your strength. The cross settled God's love for you, and the resurrection secured your victory. Every step of obedience declares that your faith is greater than your fear. The valley is not your destination but the road to your next testimony. Keep walking with God, for those who refuse to give up in the valley will one day glorify Him on the mountain.

Further readings:

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
(Isaiah 43:2)

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
(Romans 8:37)

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
(James 1:2-4)
